Senior Adult Ministry


The Senior Adult Ministry at First Baptist flows out of our Senior Adult Sunday school, the foundation of our ministry. We offer an in-depth Bible Study group that meets every Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. Our ministry provides a wonderful travel program that includes fellowship, adult Bible conferences, celebrations, plus educational and inspirational events. These events also facilitate social outlets for seniors. In April, we have a banquet (Spring Fling) that features a special guest artist. Our seniors attend dramas at Cumberland Theater, Tennessee Performing Arts Center, and concerts at Gaylord Entertainment Center. First Baptist also offers Christian travel to different parts of the world. We have been to Alaska, the Caribbean, Rome, Turkey, Egypt, and IsraelSeveral senior adults are active in home, state, and international missions. This is a short description of our Senior Adult Ministry. More ministries and upcoming events are listed below:

Other Ministries

5 Wishes - Video and Information for appointing your spokesman to carry out your medical and personal decisions when you are incapacitated.
Grief Ministry - Information booklets on handling loss.
Homebound/Nursing Home Ministry - We have 28 members visiting over 76 homebound and nursing home residents. We provide training for the workers and care giving ideas for caregivers. The WOM ministry (formerly WMU) is an additional part of this visitation.
Reading Program - First Baptist Clarksville/Sango Elementary Partnership. Members volunteer once a month to read books to the classes, listen to the children read, or participate in other activities.
Travel Ministry – Senior travel ministry includes conferences and events which focus on education, information, and inspiration along with fellowship and entertainment. Many events are open for adults of all ages. We also travel overseas. Seniors are involved in domestic and international mission activities.
Pacesetters Bible Study – Our seniors meet every Friday at l0:30 a.m. for Bible study and luncheon.
Senior Adult Ministry sponsors the Home Repair and Auto Repair Ministries led by Ralph Conklin and C. W. Stokes.
